Collage: work+live

This project was done in third year, topic studio. The topic of the studio was “cities in cities,” and we explored the way urban buildings interact with the rest of the city and with people. We learned about people working in the city, people living in the city, and people recreating in the city. We started with precedent studies where we learned what an “urban activator” is - a space that activates the city and makes it more vibrant and healthy. This inspired my subsequent project and pushed me to create a space that prioritizes its urban activator, bolsters the city in which it sits, and serves the young professional. In our study of urban activators, we also developed diagramming and analysis skills, and we learned how to better communicate the design intent through graphics.
